Awards Presentation Details

Our awards ceremonies will take place on Sunday, June 8th at 11:45am

The awards timing for our 2025 event has changed. We found the previous years' awards too rushed. This year, you can relax in front of the awards stage or in the BackRoads Beer Garden with drinks and live music during the ceremony.

Awards Schedule

  • M&T Printing Group 5K winners

  • BackRoads Brews + Shoes 10K winners

  • ASICS RunKeeper Half-Marathon winners

  • Draw prizes (items from BackRoads, Asics, and other partner donations) will be handed out to those in awards ceremony attendance. Participants will be chosen at random by our TVCC ambassador Nico.

Age Category Awards

  • Winners in each age category (male, female, and open) will receive a $10 gift certificate to BackRoads Brews + Shoes. This can be used for coffee, beer, or running gear.

  • The age categories are: male & female; >18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.

  • Prize winners can collect their gift certificates at the Awards Central desk in the main tent, anytime after their race until 2 PM.

ASICS RunKeeper Half-Marathon

1st place male & female: $2000
2nd place male & female: $1000
3rd place male & female: $500
4th place male & female: $250
*Our Half-Marathon is an Athletics Canada Sanctioned event

M&T Printing Group 5K

1st place male & female: $500
2nd place male & female: $250
3rd place male & female: $125

BackRoads 10K

1st place male & female: $1000
2nd place male & female: $500
3rd place male & female: $250

McDonalds Kids FunRun

Trophies provided by M&T Printing group will be awarded to the top 5 finishers in the kids race

Prizing rules

  • You must wear your bib with the chip throughout the race to be eligible for a prize, regardless of whether you're an overall or age category winner.

  • Collect your prize on race day before 2 PM at Awards Central in the main tent or during the awards ceremony.

  • Overall winners will get a cheque from the Race Director, which must be cashed by July 31, 2025.

Elite Athletes

To waive Elite Athlete Registration fees, athletes must provide a race result from the last 3 years that shows they have met the elite standards:

Women

5K: Sub 18:30
10K: Sub 39:00
21.1K: Sub 1:19:00

Men

5K: Sub 15:30
10K: Sub 32:30
21.1K: Sub 1:12:00

  • Please send a link to your results to shauna@forestcityroadraces.com

  • Elite Athletes will be sent a code to waive the fees in registration. They will also receive complementary access to our VIP tent over race weekend after they register.

  • Elite Athletes will be given front row access to the start lines of each race. IF we have more than 10 elites in a race, we will begin the races with the elites and then other participants will follow after a second gun time 1:30 later.

At Forest City Road Races, we support the hard work and dedication of our Ontario Athletes. If you are still working towards becoming an elite athlete and are a member of a track or cross-country club, please email shauna@forestcityroadraces.com with your club name, and a link to one of your PB’s. We will gladly send you a 50% off discount code and add you to our VIP tent as well.
